Charlotte Poplawski is a senior majoring in chemical engineering with additional focuses in neuroscience and psychology. Currently, she is researching how endothelial cells, the cells that line our blood vessels, sense and respond to different types of fluid flow, important factors in understanding health problems such as angiogenesis and aneurysms. Collaborating with the labs of Alex Dunn and Gerry Fuller, Charlotte is especially interested in how different biochemical inhibitors can be used to reverse engineer the mechanisms by which cells move and align themselves in response to their environment. In her research and everyday life, Charlotte loves to solve problems related to how people can live healthier and happier lives.
